LIA forms new partnership with Autumn Fair International

Furniture News can reveal that the organiser of Autumn Fair International, i2i Events Group, has announced a new partnership with the Lighting Industry Association (LIA), which will see the launch of The Light Show at Autumn Fair International 2015.

i2i Events and the LIA formalised the agreement this morning, prior to the opening of Autumn Fair International 2014, which will run at the NEC from 7-10th September.

Commenting on the new partnership agreement, COO of the LIA, Peter Hunt, said: “After consultation with its members and detailed consideration of a number of options, the LIA has reached agreement to hold a new dedicated lighting show for the decorative sector at Autumn Fair International in September 2015.”

“It has been a challenge to find a suitable replacement for the Lighting at Interiors show in January after the organisers withdrew the Interiors show at the NEC earlier this year. The LIA are convinced that the opportunity provided by the organisers of the Autumn Fair, i2i Events Group, will offer new benefits which will drive business in the sector.

“The Autumn Fair is closely linked with new exporting activities by UKTI which brings another dimension to a UK show. LIA members will enjoy significant benefits and we look forward to the return of a strong and vibrant show delivering key buyers at a key time of year for the lighting industry.”

Serving as a launch platform for a huge cross-section of suppliers from multiple market sectors, over the past two years the exhibition has seen major growth in the number of home interiors, furniture and lighting companies choosing the event as their new product launch platform. This in turn has attracted an increasingly large numbers of quality retailers to the September show.

Portfolio director for Autumn Fair, Nick Davison, comments: “I am delighted to announce that the LIA has chosen to run The Light Show in partnership with Autumn Fair International. This new show within a show will make its debut during our September 2015 event.

“Autumn Fair takes place at the ideal time of year for buyers in this sector, and the central location of the NEC makes it the perfect venue. We have already seen a major upswing in our home interiors, furniture and lighting sectors at the 2014 exhibition, and this major development will ensure Autumn Fair is an even more essential fixture for the market.

“The Light Show exhibitors and visiting retailers will also benefit from our existing partnership with UKTI, which does great work promoting the export of British products and services to overseas markets.”

The Light Show will take place from September 6-9th in hall 2 of The NEC, Birmingham, in 2015.
