Flexiload and Classic Furniture take over Totem ranges

With the news that Totem Furniture is winding up due to MD Nick Lewer's retirement, two of the company's best-selling ranges, Provence and Malmo, are being taken up by Flexiload and Classic Furniture.

Totem's MD, Nick Lewer, has known Dave Rippin, Classic's MD, for many years, from the days when he was a major supplier of pine furniture. He felt that Dave's expertise in the furniture trade make him an ideal wholesaler to take the ranges on.

Classic, which offers quality and service across a diverse range of products at competitive pricing, will be stocking Provence and Malmo ranges in depth, and has arranged to buy Totem's remaining UK stock. Flexiload's product development team in China is working on the production of new stock, so everything is in place to minimise disruption to existing stockists.

Simon Bonham, Flexiload Ltd MD, says he is very excited about this project: "With Nick Lewer's impending retirement from the trade and Totem closing down, it would have been a shame for these ranges to die.

"Nick has perfected the designs over the last few years – with their retro look and unique finish there’s plenty of demand in the market for both Malmo and Provence. With our manufacturing expertise and Classic Furniture’s massive stock holding, we are sure we can represent and grow the ranges successfully."

Both ranges will be available on Flexiload's mixed container programme from the end of the year (call 01788 553987 for details) – for wholesale contact Classic Furniture on (01472 398280).
