Robbie Glen to enliven Northpoint Show

The 2018 Northpoint Show boasted over 60 exhibitors covering upholstery, living room, occasional, dining, mirrors, pictures, lighting, accessories, bedrooms, beds and floor coverings – and Northpoint 2019 is set to be another successful event, with 38 companies already confirmed to exhibit.

“Having started as a small show in Glasgow 41 years ago, we now exhibit in the largest hall at the Royal Highland Centre next to Edinburgh airport,” says  Bob Dymond, organiser of the Northpoint Show.

“It is a very important addition to the show calendar, and gives the northern retailers an opportunity of seeing not only the latest models introduced at the NEC in Birmingham, but also products from new suppliers exhibiting in the UK for the first time. For a friendly and easy-to-visit show, Northpoint is well worth putting into all retailers’ diaries for January.”

In addition to the show, there is the popular annual Scottish Furniture Representatives Association (SFRA) President’s Dinner – hosted in 2019 by the association’s president Daryl Drylie on the 28th January at the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel. All show exhibitors and visitors are welcome to attend the dinner, which is now in its 39th year.

“We are very pleased to announce that we have secured extremely entertaining after-dinner speaker Robbie Glen as our entertainment,” says Bob. “Robbie Glen’s wit, timing, and ability to read an audience is incredible – he is one of the finest after-dinner speakers you’re ever likely to hear. His gift for making people laugh surely qualifies him for an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records!

“Robbie has spoken at numerous private and corporate events, including Variety Club dinners for Lord Attenborough, Jimmy Logan and Ally McCoist, and a Lord’s Taverners’ tribute lunch for Sir Harry Secombe.”

Northpoint 2019 will take place at Highland Hall, Ingliston, Edinburgh, from 27-29th January.
