100% Design will celebrate its 21st edition in a new home, Olympia London, from 23rd-26th September. Staged in the dramatic Grand and West halls, the show will take place across two levels and feature five distinct sections – Interiors, Design & Build, Kitchens & Bathrooms, Workplace and Emerging Brands. From furniture and lighting to fabrics and accessories, the Interiors area will feature contemporary design from around the world.
Based upon a central theme of Design in Colour, 100% Design 2015 has collaborated closely with trend forecaster WGSN among others to bring visitors’ experience to life through the use of colour.
The show will present specially commissioned editorial features, world-leading seminars and live content, alongside over 400 UK and international exhibitors. The top colour trends for 2016, as forecasted by WGSN, will also thread throughout the show as a means to demonstrate the importance of colour and to navigate the event. The popular talks programme, Talks with 100% Design, will also return, with headline speakers including Ilse Crawford.
New to 100% Design, Italian brand Novamobili, a long-established family business which specialises in retail and contract furniture, will present its collections of contemporary pieces, while luxury design company Sé will present new pieces including a floor lamp by Nika Zupanc, updated pieces by Damien Langlois-Meurinne and Collection II by Jaime Hayon.
Hackney-based Lozi Designs will launch a new furniture collection of carefully shaped and bent sustainable wood by designer Soroush Pourhashemi, while luxury furniture brand Piece-UK will present its debut collection, which consists of the mid-century-inspired Penthouse cabinet, and the Bundles sideboard, which resembles an orderly woodpile.
Designer-maker Tom Raffield, based in Cornwall, has expanded his contemporary lighting and furniture range with six new designs, handcrafted from sustainably-sourced timber and using traditional woodworking techniques. Also specialising in wood techniques, Laurameroni will exhibit her understated collections.
The winners of the 2015 Design Guild Mark Awards will be in attendance, as will a selection of nominees for The Wood Awards.
These furniture highlights will join numerous new lighting innovations, as well as the Emerging Brands section, one of the UK’s strongest platforms for newly-established design talent.
