Savoir Beds enjoys Gone Girl film praise

Small London-based luxury bed maker Savoir Beds enjoys an on-screen mention in David Fincher's blockbuster film, Gone Girl, which was released in the UK on 2nd October.

In the reference, a Savoir bed is presented by the character Desi (played by Neil Patrick Harris) to the female lead, Amy (played by Rosamund Pike) whilst on a tour of his lavish home.

“… and the bed is a Savoir," says Desi. "You can’t get a better night’s sleep.”

Testing the firmness of the mattresses, Amy responds with: "Ah, this is just what I need right now.”

The featured bed is a Savoir No2, which was initially commissioned for The Savoy Hotel over a century ago and is still hand crafted with the original methods and natural materials in London, taking around 80 hours to perfect.

Savoir beds have been used by the likes of Sir Winston Churchill and Marilyn Monroe.

Alistair Hughes, MD of Savoir Beds, comments: "We are obviously delighted to see Savoir in the spotlight! However we aren’t entirely new to Hollywood, we have worked with a whole host of A-List clients. Our beds are completely bespoke and we focus on handcrafting each specific order here in London/Cardiff.

"Giving our high-end clientele the best night’s sleep is our priority – after all, you spend a third of your life in bed. Our bespoke beds are crafted by our highly-skilled London/Cardiff based Bedworks team, with the best quality natural materials costing from £7000 to £125,000. Since the release of Gone Girl we have seen a spike in visits to our website, proving that the film has generated lots of interest."
